The Role

The firm is looking for an entrepreneurial Construction Litigation Senior Associate / Partner to join their buzzing central Leeds office.

You will work closely with the other Partners within the Construction department, and more generally across the firm, to drive the business forwards. You will work as part of a driven and commercially successful leadership team.

You will sit as part of the wider Real Estate and litigation teams, working on a varied and interesting caseload covering both residential and commercial construction disputes. The firm boasts a varied and interesting client base including owners, employers, developers, contractors, sub-contractors and construction professionals, including architects and surveyors.

The caseload will involve payment disputes, defective work/remedial work disputes, professional negligence on construction projects, contractor insolvency and retention of title claims payment disputes under construction contracts.

This role comes with strong prospects to progress, in line with the growth agenda. The firm are succession planning are keen to find the next generation of senior Lawyers.

Requirements
  • You will be a Construction Litigation Lawyer with at least 8 years PQE (there is no upper limit regarding the amount of PQE, there is no upper limit regarding the amount of experience)
  • You will be used to dealing with a contentious caseload
  • You will have first-class communication, outstanding business development skills and an entrepreneurial flair
  • Experience of overseeing a team is desirable, however not essential
  • A transferable client base or regional contacts is highly advantageous
