Project Manager – Logistics Automation and Robotics Specialist
As a Logistics Automation and Robotics Specialist with deep and proven experience in the delivery of physical automation projects, you will be able to demonstrate that you have led teams to implement successfully (achieving the benefits initially outlined during scoping) and embed robotics and automation solutions in the 3PL space. Working with Unipart Logistics to further embed automation and robotics into our operations, you will help to strengthen our position as the supply chain transformation partner of choice.
Project Manager – Logistics Automation and Robotics Specialist Responsibilities:
• Use data from the WMS and understand the operational processes to advise which is the right solution for a number of our sites
• Use your industry network to engage with suppliers and follow the procurement process through to the reliable implementation of benefits
• Implement the chosen solution safely, on time, and to budget
• Transfer your knowledge to the Unipart Logistics team to build our capability in this area
Project Manager – Logistics Automation and Robotics Specialist Requirements:
We are particularly interested in talking to you if you have practical experience in selection, implementation, and operation of a number of the following:
• AMR (autonomous mobile robotics) and AGVs
• Virtual Towers / Control Towers / Picking carousels
• Co–bots
• Follow me / Fetch robots
• Integrating robotics with SAP and JDA Warehouse Management Systems
Having an existing relationship with the following suppliers / manufacturers is also of interest:
• Locus robotics
• 6 River
• Geek +
• Swisslog
• Boston Dynamics
• Amazon Robotics (Kiva)
• TGW
• Dematic
• ABB
• KNAPP
Ideally you will have experience of implementing more than one successful project in this field from concept to delivery and benefit realisation, have used SAP and JDA, and will have worked in an operationally focused role and therefore understand the complexities involved and how important it is to engage with, and communicate benefits, to colleagues at all levels.
You will also be a team player, and be successful in identifying automation opportunities and be able to clearly articulate the operational and financial benefits of such opportunities whilst also highlighting the key automation risks and be able to identify and mitigate these.
