Senior Business Analyst

GBP60-GBP65,000 per annum + 5% annual bonus

Security Clearance: SC clearance - not needed before starting but must be eligible to undergo SC Clearance.

Location: Role based Milton Keynes and/or Euston (tbc based on Workstream) - Due to COVID-19 initially the successful candidate will work from home

Job Spec Summary

• Develop unambiguous, complete and consistent business requirements specifications to support the delivery of the Workstream

Key Objectives

• Outputs and Outcomes including:
  • Benefits case development
  • Identify, document and analyse As-Is and To-Be business processes
  • Develop business level requirements using methods such as EPICS, Use Cases, User Stories, Wireframes, requirements traceability matrices, Functional and Non-functional Requirements.
  • Identify data entities, attributes and develop conceptual/logical data models
• Assess the impact of the changes with respect to:
  • Data and Information and its quality
  • Security
  • Data Protection
• Contribute to the development of business change plans and benefits profiles
• Contribute to the production of high-level project plans and identify, assess and escalate project risks and issues as appropriate
• Contribute to the production of Safety and Hazard documentation and plans

Essential Experience/Skills:

• Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall delivery
• Data analytics delivery experience in one or more of the following contexts:
  • Operational dashboards
  • OLAP/Data Mining
  • Artificial Intelligence in support of predicative analysis
• Data Management, Data Cubes, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes
• Thorough and up to date understanding of analysis approaches, tools and techniques including (Use Cases, Conceptual Datamodelling, BPMN)
• Intermediate to strong Excel skills. Ideally able to develop macros if called on.
• Know how an operational P&L works
• Facilitate and influence challenging negotiation workshops
• Able to validate benefit case opportunities
• Measure and report delivery of actual benefits
• Strong leadership skills; able to engage with coordinate & successfully lead multiple BAs

Desired Experience/Skills:

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a Senior position
• ITIL Manager or ITIL V3 Expert and ISO/IEC 20000 consultant qualifications are desirable
• Experience within the Utilities and/or Rail sector
• Experienced in EA Sparx and Jira
• Ability to rapidly acquire and simulate subject matter expertise of network rail asset management operations and translate into business analyst artefacts.
