THE COMPANY
This medium–sized regional building contractor delivers new build and refurbishment projects which range in value from GBP2m to GBP10m for Public and Private sector clients throughout the South.
An extensive portfolio of completed schemes spans a wide range of sectors including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial, Leisure and Residential and these have been secured using a diverse range of procurement methods including substantial repeat business methods due to their non–confrontational approach.
The experienced management team adopt a 'hands on' approach throughout the project which enables solutions and actions to be discussed at the optimum time in order to reduce delays, defects, design problems and budgetary constraints. Additionally, Health & Safety is paramount and their safety advisors ensure that all personnel are always aware of the ongoing changes to legislation and processes.
THE ROLE: Project Manager
My client are currently resourcing an energetic and ambitious project lead on a GBP9million carehome, future projects will be valued between GBP2m – GBP10million.
As project Manager, reporting to the visiting Contracts Manager your duties will include..
Working in close partnership with local supply chain partners and using local expertise and knowledge
Contributing to long–term customer partnerships ensuring repeat business
Ensuring delivery on time, to budget and to agreed quality ensuring procedures are followed / maintained and that authorization parameters are not exceeded
Attend and contribute to any safety initiative as required to ensure the project is constructed safely
Comply and manage health and safety in line with the company procedures, and current guidance and good practice, including but not limited to Fire safety, Security, Emergency Planning and Accident Reporting
Establish the project objectives with the team as a whole
Ensure the coordination of the project as a whole by appropriate planning and organisation by leading a site team ensuring the project's success
Be responsible for the contract programme including monitoring and reprogramming should it be required to ensure timely delivery of the project
Produce programmes to allow the planning, execution and monitoring of the works compared against the contract programme ensure all programmes plans, method statements and risk assessments are up to date, understood and adhered to by all the necessary people
Ensure that the flow of information through all parties is effectively managed and delivered, ensuring the works as a whole are constructed to the latest information
Organise the site team daily to deliver programme requirements
Have an understanding of each specialist sub–contractor's order including all attendances.
Promote high standards of work completion across the site.
Be aware of and ensure contract terms are delivered
Liaise with the project QS to monitor the financial status of the project, identify solutions to problems and improvements and organise activity to deliver these and the required margin
Ensure procurement is carried out in a timely manner using our approved supply chain.
Manage junior team members, making expectations clear and reviewing performance standards and assist in their development
Demonstrate the ability to the clients maximising the opportunity for repeat business.
Hold weekly team meetings to discuss project delivery, identify improvement opportunities and celebrate success
Be responsible for a project as a whole to ensure the successful delivery of a project as a whole
