Venesky–Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit an IT Project Manager for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.GBP(Apply online only)/day (inside of IR35). The role will initially be remote based.
The Role:
Our client is set to commence a project to upgrade and enhance their current website in order to better meets the needs of users. They are seeking an experienced project manager to lead the project through to go live.
Responsibilities:
* Working with colleagues across the organisation and the supplier to ensure requirements are met
* Ensuring that a realistic project and quality plan is prepared and maintained and tracks all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as appropriate.
* Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of the project, engaging with stakeholders and actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks and issues which could affect the success of the project
* Manage the change control procedure and ensures that the project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off. Gains agreement for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors and other stakeholders (e.g. design authority, project board, change authority) as appropriate.
* Ensures that that the project is formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured, actioned and reported to the appropriate organisational entities for dissemination towards organisational learning and improvement. Produces appropriate documentation to support these processes.
Essential Skills:
* Experience of applying standards, practices, codes, and assessment and certification programmes relevant to the IT industry and Public sector.
* Experience of identifying, gathering and validating customers' needs in the delivery of a digital platform.
* Experience of resource, risk and supplier management and engaging stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience of delivering/managing projects in the Public Sector.
* Familiarity with or experience of working within agile methodology.
* Strong communication and people skills.
