Part of an international petrochemical and specialty chemical group, our client is a market leading GBPmulti–million polymer compounder with a diverse customer base. As part of their strategy for growth, the company is seeking a Head of Sales who will enjoy working in an autonomous business that has an entrepreneurial, visionary and hands–on culture where there is an opportunity to make a real difference.

Role:

?? Develop and implement the long term Sales strategy and implement the sales action plan to deliver this strategy.
?? Deliver sales targets for volume, price and contribution with individual key customer account responsibility within this role.
?? Manage, coach and develop the UK Sales team to develop best options for sales from UK assets. Monitor and report monthly upon the Sales team's performance against budget (volumes and margin) – and detail specific customer, competitor and overall market activities to allow future development of key account plans and objective setting.
?? Lead and deliver the annual sales volume and contribution budgeting process for the UK Sales Region.
?? Implement tactical marketing and communication plans by working with Commercial Managers (UK and International) to create and deliver a common approach, best practice and sales development activities.
?? Deliver Debtors performance to ensure UK remains best in class on overdue and bad debts.
?? Manage the submission of the Sales team's monthly sales forecast to optimise stock holding / control – and in turn assist planning in the optimisation of plant production scheduling. Minimize any slow moving or obsolete stock relating to their customer base in order to achieve targets set for stock holding, working capital and income.
?? Drive the investigation of customer complaints internally and complete sign–off/approval with the customer within the allotted time period as defined by the business.
?? Lead the team in personal SHE commitment objectives to ensure no accidents, incidents and work related health issues.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

?? Wide people management skill set including managing direct reports. Coaching, motivating and influencing third party teams including Supply Chain, Customer Service, Credit and Logistics.
?? The role has project leadership and project membership activities typically in the fields of contract negotiation, credit management, business optimisation and business improvement.
?? Educated to degree level with minimum 10 years in a polymer, formulation chemistry, chemical or petrochemical environment.
?? Significant Business experience in management roles.
?? Extended experience in commercial functions, particularly in sales, marketing and commercial management.
?? Strong business sense with strategic thinking.
?? Understanding business context, analytical skills.
?? Strong leadership and people management skills.
?? Experience in leading organisations.
?? Excellent interpersonal skills, Relationship building.
