Senior Project Manager (Rail)
GBP65,000.00 per annum + 5% bonus + benefits
Security Clearance: SC clearance – not needed before starting
Location: Role based Milton Keynes and / or Euston (tbc based on Workstream)

Job Spec Summary
Lead programme management across an asset–discipline focused workstream, delivering a portfolio of complex technology enabled change projects, leading and coordinating activities across projects
Key Objectives
Develop and deliver the workstream delivery plan, on time, to budget and to other agreed success criteria, within corporate guidelines
Lead cross–workstream activity to ensure cross–workstream alignment and integration, including cross–workstream dependency management
Own all governance, risk management and assurance activities
Produce investment plans for the programme in accordance with Investment Regulations
Identify and implement quality and efficiency improvement initiatives
Essential Experience/Skills:
5+ years of project management experience of either large IT application development projects (i.e. >GBP1 million and >10 people) or large IT infrastructure projects, including experience working within multi–disciplinary and multi–supplier teams
Experience of managing multiple large & complex projects at the same time while also effectively & efficiently managing the corresponding budgets.
Experience in the use of a project planning tool (e.g. Primavera or Microsoft Project)
Knowledge and experience of applying a range of delivery, development, and software engineering life cycles, e.g. waterfall, RAD, JAD, DSDM, Agile – Formal Project Management
Desired Experience/Skills:
Strong financial management skills
Ability to manage commercial and contractual issues, including driving value from suppliers
Able to build relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders
Ability to lead a diverse team of asset management professionals, engineering and technology specialists in delivering work–packages
Ability to work in a client facing environment, with good communication skills and engagement management experience
Well organised and confident, with enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to take on a variety of tasks
Excellent verbal and written skills
Awareness of Network Rail asset management IT systems
Experience within the Utilities and / or Rail sector
Personal Attributes:

Creative problem solving and analysis skills with an ability to identify develop and implement solutions to gaps to meet the needs of the business
