The role: Technical Director
Providing technical excellence for the FM division, driving the standardisation of best practices.
You will champion technical solutions & innovations through partnership with the wider CBRE network, mentoring and growing the engineering standard throughout the account for national consistency.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Provide all onsite operations teams with general engineering support as required
Provide business development team technical support to provide solutions to meet varying customer requirements
Liaise with wider business solutions to promote innovations in both new technology and service solutions
Create and lead division technical forum arranging quarterly meetings involving relevant guest speakers reporting risks and opportunities from forum to senior management
Mentor contract based technical managers in ensuring engineering best practice is exercised across the division
Lead apprenticeship and technical training programs that ensure development past class room learning
Produce standardised documentation and processes that can be utilised and tailored by the site teams (i.e. Forward Maintenance Register, Risk Registers)
Act as Authorising Engineer for the division with responsibilities consisting of: –
– Managing of Authorised Person register
– Communicating known safety alerts/notices across the division
– Produce standard authorising process for division
– Liaise with wider technical group to assist in authorising of team members
– Arrange authorised persons site audits across the relevant sites
– Advice on high risks works and provision of standard documentation
Provide investigation and root cause analysis across the division as required, producing reports and learning from experience documents to be shared internally/externally
Provide standard competence tests for current staff and for utilisation during interview stages
Liaise and work in partnership with the QHSE team
Promote customer experience and wellbeing through good operation of building service systems
Provide technical support to the division project team in areas such as: –
– Scope and specification reviews
– Support in planning of high risk works
– Assistance and support in creation of initial scoping documentation
Person Specification:
An apprentice trained engineer who has recognised technical qualifications and attained C Eng or I Eng registration with CIBSE or IET or IMechE
Several years' experience of senior technical roles: Authorised Eng, HV AP Electrical 11 KV /LV, Confined Spaces, Boiler Pressure Systems with a knowledge of building management systems (BMS); Fire Alarm Systems and general building services
Exhibit always, an awareness of safety procedures and practices
Show diligence in safe working methods both for CBRE staff and occupants of the premises working in
Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively with diplomacy and sensitivity
Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self– starters, confident and stable in manner
Organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments
Impart & share knowledge and safety training to all members of staff as required
