A large healthcare organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Midwife/Nurse who holds extensive senior level experience with Reproductive Health/Maternity Services.
Main Responsibilities:
Working in partnership with the SMT the senior Midwife/Nurse is accountable for the delivery of clinical quality standards, patient safety and the overall patient experience in the division;
Providing professional leadership, advice and support for the Directorate to ensure there is consistency of practice, high standards of care with a strong patient safety focus;
Hold operational accountability for the Reproductive health midwifery and nursing workforce and lead and advise on quality and clinical governance issues for Women's Services;
Expected to develop innovative practice in relation to the provision of nursing and midwifery and other services to women and their families;
The post holder will have the ability to operate independently and decisively to ensure effective operational running and strategic development within the maternity service in conjunction with the SMT;
Play a significant role in developing and implementing the Trusts Nursing and Midwifery Strategy. This will be in accordance with patient needs, national and local priorities and professional codes of practice;
In a timely manner, deal effectively and sensitively with complex or highly complex complaints, patient safety incidents and clinical situations;
Act as a role model, maintaining and upholding high standards of professional behaviour and maintaining their educational and practice competencies.
A successful candidate will have:
Hold current NMC registration as Midwife or Nurse;
Extensive experience working within Women's or Maternity Services within a large acute hospital;
Have a proven track record of professional leadership of other clinicians, to enhance the patients experience.
