My client a FTSE 100 employer is currently seeking a Tax Manager.
This is a interim requirement to take a hand over from a current incumbent to assist the Director of Finance whilst they source a Permanent individual.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver a full range of tax filings and payments in line with laws and regulations within specified timeframes.
Implement a tax calendar and ensure business is prepared to deliver requirements on time.
Lead an efficient tax provisioning process for external reporting, including reconciliation of all tax balances on the ledger. This will include current and deferred tax balances in addition to VAT and payroll tax creditors.
Build relationships within the business and with advisors to obtain a better understanding of the company's activities and more effective consultations with experts
Implement a strategy to effectively manage the long term tax burden on the company, including the identification and mitigation of risks
Coordinate staff and provide training and feedback as required
Manage communications with HMRC, including coordination of the annual SAO process and any tax audits
Work with tax team to understand historic submissions (Corporation tax, VAT and payroll taxes) and accounting tax provisions and balances. Identify potential risks and opportunities in respect of all taxes
Implement tax policies, processes and controls to provide assurance over tax information and compliance with SAO and Corporate Criminal Offence legislation
Person Specification:
ACA Qualified
Thorough understanding/experience of listed company tax reporting requirements
Tax management
Ability to promote strong/sound control environments
Ability to strongly influence and challenge in a constructive/ engaging manner at
Board and Senior Management level
Team leadership and development
