Package: GBP90,000 – GBP110,000 basic + Package

My client is a leading Consultancy within the Infrastructure sector and due to internal promotions and project awards they are looking for a new Leader for their Highways division. Someone that can not only lead and grow a team but also understand the importance of a close working relationship with Highways England.

With a focus on Engineering this consultancy focused on technical based work be it design by nature or Technical support for a client. Projects vary from new build schemes, frameworks or JV partnerships with Highways England, Local authorities, or larger capital projects. This is a Technically focused position so you need to have developed up through design or design management route. As part of this client facing role, you will be expected to develop and maintain key client relationships, maximising opportunities for new/repeat business, while also able to handle the technical or engineering aspects that may come up.

Responsibilities on a day to day basis include but not limited to:

Day to day leadership of an experienced team of relevant discipline professionals on multiple projects (Civil Engineering, Mechanical, electrical or Geotechnical all Highways focused)
Responsible for high level project review including team resourcing, project finance, fee proposals and appointment documents
Controlling a team delivering multiple projects
Quality reviews prior to the submission of the tender / bids
Quality checking schematic/concept designs and design calculations within defined timescales
Liaison with Statutory Bodies (e.g. Highways England or Local Authority);
Effectively managing project staff resourcing and costs in line with project deadlines and contract obligations
Managing and leading internal/external meetings and reviews

Required qualifications, skills, behaviours and attributes

Highway specific projects based around Design / Technical or Project Management.
HNC / HND / Degree in Civil engineering or related subject
MICE is desirable but not a requirement.
Proven relationships with in Client organisations – Highways England, Local Authorities, TFL, DFT, Capital project programmes
