Job Purpose:
This position will provide key support to the management team, by especially advising the Executives and Senior Management Team on a variety of legal topics, assisting with a broad range of legal duties across insurance, procurement, property and Company Secretarial. The successful candidate proactively works with the Company Secretary to oversee all the legal aspects and be the safeguard of the company's reputation by ensuring legal conformity and minimizing probability of exposure.

The successful candidate proactively works with the Company Secretary to oversee all the legal aspects and be the safeguard of the company's reputation by ensuring legal conformity and minimizing probability of exposure.
Main duties and responsibilities:
This position is based at the Head Office at Edmonton in North London.
- Be the first line of review for all legal and contractual documentation, including proofread, format legal documentation according to requirements and recommendations to the Executive Team
- Update and maintain an efficient and accessible library of the common information and reports in the relevant legal document management database and /or filing system.
- Ensure delivery of and adherence to the Company's GDPR responsibilities.
- Deliver and maintain a high quality and professional company secretarial service to the Finance Director and Board.
- Co-ordinate board meetings, including documentation and collation and printing of documents if required. Draft meeting minutes, memos and follow up actions as required.
- Manage insurance claims, working with the Company's insurance brokers and insurers, including insurers' legal team to resolve claims in accordance with the Company's principles and policies.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety Team to ensure that all accidents and incidents which may result in claims being lodged are comprehensively documented contemporaneously.
- Work with the Procurement Team to ensure that Contract terms and conditions are consistent and non-onerous where possible, making recommendations on any onerous terms.
- Work with the Head of Central Services on all property documentation, reviewing and recommending action to the Executive Team
- Advise the HR team on changes to Employment Law. Ensure that all employee documentation is relevant to current law when required.
- Manage and coordinate the activities and workload and provide continuous improvement that embraces Company priorities and initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organisation.
Profile description:
- Educated to degree level in Law (or another relevant subject).
- Ideally ICSA qualified or working towards it.
- Previous experience of providing commercial legal advice either in house or as part of a private practice team.
- Ideally some experience of providing company secretarial assistance.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to work calmly under pressure, ensuring constant attention to detail.
- Able to work in collaboration with Senior Leaders, including Executives.
- An excellent team player who gains satisfaction from achieving team goals
