Engineering Project Manager

Would you like to play a key role in the transformation of the Typhoon portfolios within Europe? We currently have a vacancy for a Engineering Project Manager at our site in Warton, Lancashire.

As a Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day management of the new Typhoons Quadriga aircraft delivery programme. The role will also have accountability for the interface in to European partners and customers and will be accountable for the compilation and performance of the BAE systems contract.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a brand–new team within the exciting transformation of aircrafts, This role will provide you the with opportunity to develop your career through a well–established career path within BAE Systems AIR. There could be opportunity to take on further responsibility, define future processes and practices within the development team or expand your skillsets into a number of different roles within the team or wider BAE Systems Business.

Your main responsibilities as a Engineering Project Manager will involve:

Providing leadership and management for a small team

Responsible for project/programme delivery and performance

Identifying and developing new business opportunities adjacent to the project/programme

Financially plan and achieve acceptable business financial objectives for orders, sales, gross margin and cash.

Establishing and maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships

Proactively manage emerging risks and opportunities to the benefit of the project/programme

Overseeing the development, establishment, continuous improvement and tailoring of procedures and guidelines for operation of the project/programme, ensuring adherence to the Lifecycle Management Mandates

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential skills

Established experience building strong customer relationships

You will be an experienced Manager of teams

Strong hands on complex Project/ Portfolio Management across the full lifecycle

Recognised qualification in Project Management or equivalent hands on experience

Desirable skills

An understanding of engineering or aerospace would be highly desirable

Demonstrated experience working in an international environment would be desirable

You will have excellent communication an interpersonal skill with the ability to digest ad exchange complex information to non–technical members of the team. You will be a highly self–motivated individual and have flexibility to your approach to work. You will be able to balance sometimes conflicting priorities and respond to tight timescales whilst keeping all stakeholders engaged.

Location: Warton, Lancashire

Salary: GBP45,800.00
