Project Manager
Would you like to play a key role where you can be contributing to complex national and international projects? We currently have a vacancy for a Project Manager at our site in Warton, Lancashire.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible defining, planning and delivering assigned projects to meet customer and business requirements.
These roles are part of the Europe and International business within the Air Sector, which has a long and proud heritage in the development, manufacture, upgrade and support of world–leading combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. This business operates across the globe supporting our customers with a broad range of products (including Eurofighter Typhoon, Hawk and Tornado) and support, maintenance and training services.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work within a fast–paced environment with exposure to a variety of projects. Within this role you will be given the opportunity to obtain tangible delivery experience and demonstrate your ability to successfully deliver against Customer and Business requirements.
Your main responsibilities as a Project Manager will involve:
Developing and maintaining key relationships with sub–contractors, customers and other stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are achieved and that issues are effectively addressed, and to facilitate effective and profitable business development
Working within a multi–disciplined team consisting of engineering, commercial, project management etc., to ensure that both the customers and business requirements are met, whilst ensuring that all commercial aspects are well documented
Controlling and monitoring projects so that they are delivered to agreed time, cost and quality requirements, regularly reviewing and reporting on progress against plan and where necessary, intervening to resolve issues which threaten delivery to plan
Ensuring that all aspects of the projects are fully defined to ensure customer requirements are achieved in accordance with all business and commercial criteria
Proactively manage emerging risks and opportunities to the benefit of the project/programme
Supporting bid and tendering processes to ensure bids meet customer needs, in line with business& commercial criteria that all risks are assessed effectively, and that bids are realistic and winnable
Developing accurate estimates in support of bids, annual budgets or cost to completion, and analyse 'spend to date' data
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Previous experience gained within a similar role
The ability to communicate information and forge trusted relationships across all working levels
A willingness to take on leadership responsibilities within the team
The ability to work in a matrix organisation with good teaming skills
Experience working with Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project
Desirable:
Degree or equivalent hands on experience in a project management or business–related subject
A formal project management qualification or working towards (e.g. APMP, PMQ, PMP or Prince 2)
Experience in a complex engineering business

Salary: GBP37,654 + Depending on experience and skills
