Description
The role of (Senior) Legal Counsel will take on the following responsibilities:
- To provide legal advice to the different business sectors in the UK
- To advise UK companies in all aspects of commercial law
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, negotiation and management of contract and all legal documents affecting the business
- Support the central legal department and other central corporate functions
- Manage external lawyers as necessary
- Provide training and coaching on legal matters to non-lawyers
Profile
Suitable candidates will have the following skills & experience:
- UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister with minimum of 4 years post qualification experience.
- Proven experience of operating in an in-house environment would be highly beneficial.
- A good background and experience across a broad range of general commercial law topics, including company law, contract, competition, consumer, trade, commercial, property and data protection.
- Computer (Word/Powerpoint) skills, use of excel, power-point and outlook.
- Practicing Certificate from Solicitors Regulation Authority. Clean driving licence and ability to travel within the UK and Europe.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- The ability to translate complex legal issues in an understandable way to the business. To be pragmatic, commercially aware, self-sufficient, organised and maintain an attention to detail, ability to operate within a small team and produce high quality work.
