Here at Atlas Copco we currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner to join our team based in Deeside. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis (working Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30 and Friday 08:00–13:30), supporting and driving an inclusive SHE culture. Atlas Copco IAS UK Limited is a manufacturing company based in Deeside, North Wales. We are a pioneer and market leader in self–pierce riveting (SPR), a mechanical fastening process suitable for joining aluminium and also mixed materials that cannot be reliably welded. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of SPR technology to new levels.
We are looking for a Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner to take a holistic approach to the environment, safety, health and wellbeing of employees and all stakeholders. We are seriously committed to environmental sustainability and so there will be a real focus on environmental projects and reporting. If successful, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of SHE strategy and take responsibility for delivering it through a partnership approach with key stakeholders in the Company.
As our Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner you will:
– Create and implement a comprehensive suite of SHE policies and procedures that meet statutory, regulatory and corporate requirements
– Coach and support line managers in day to day SHE matters and everyday matters
– Introduce and manage the Safety Champions & Reps programme
– Develop and implement a SHE training programme to meet mandatory requirements
– Control and monitor the waste streams: recycling, hazardous and general waste
– Ensure COSHH is maintained and relevant
– Conduct internal SHE audits
– Carry out safety audits on Sub–contractors
– Ensure Environmental Agency PPC permit conditions are met
Skills and experience required by our Health, Safety & Environmental Business Partner:
– Qualification in NEBOSH National General Certificate / Diploma and IEMA Certificate or equivalent
– Strong knowledge and understanding of UK HSE Regulations
– Passionate about delivering their role in a partnership style with the Company
– A working knowledge of and qualified auditor to lSO14001 and ISO18001
– The ability to think strategically and translate into deliverable actions
– A natural and effective communicator at all levels in the organisation
– Good time management, organisation and prioritisation skills are key
– Flexibility and responsiveness
