Building Careers are working with a North West based Housing Provider as they look to appoint a new Head of Asset Strategy and Sustainability
Our client is looking for someone to develop a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy that delivers maximum value for the organisation, takes account of the sustainability of assets, ensures assets are fit for purpose for current and future customers and meets the organisation's statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilites
Strategy
Develop a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy that informs and supports the Business Plan, including 30 year financial plan and scenario assessments for capital investment and maintenance.
Delivery
Work collaboratively to ensure the development of a detailed and affordable 3–5 year investment programme that takes account of the sustainability of assets.
Data
Ensure the Company has comprehensive and up to date information on the condition of its assets, including the provision of suitable systems, data management systems and regular reconciliation of the information with core housing and finance systems.
Evaluations
Introduce and develop detailed property evaluations to understand asset value and ROI to support appraisals and assessments.
Standards
Develop, following consultation with customers, an affordable set of standards for assets that will deliver the Company objectives. Ensure a comprehensive suite of policies, processes and procedures are in place that are current and reflect all relevant statutory and regulatory requirement along with best practice.
Reporting
Translate strategy, policy and procedures into objectives, KPIs, management information, with clear mechanisms in place for reporting to Boards, management and appropriate governance levels.
Management, Leadership and Culture Change
Manage the budgets, resources and priorities of the team ensuring effective and efficient use of resources to deliver agreed performance targets and customer satisfaction. Drive culture change across the organisation.
Partnership Working
Identify, build and develop an extensive network of external partnerships to ensure that the interests of the organisation are represented. Be an ambassador for the organisation and an advocate for customers.
Ideal Skills/Experience
The successful candidate will have proven experience in an asset management role within housing or a related sector.
Education and Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) level qualification and relevant experience.
* Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIOB, RICS desirable
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
* Track record of delivering projects on time and in budget.
* Experience of managing people, and stakeholders.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Able to lead organisational change positively and effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good organisation skills and proven ability in prioritising workloads.
* Able to concentrate and work accurately under pressure and to deadlines.
