Job Title: HR Manager / Business Partner
Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Reporting to: Group HR Manager
About Us:
We are UKPS; a fast–growing Multi–utility Independent Connections Provider (ICP). We are fully accredited under the NERS, GIRS & WIRS schemes to carry out the turnkey provision of multi–utility infrastructure and subsequent connections to new build housing, residential, commercial and industrial projects.
We are part of the Last Mile Infrastructure Group, one of UK's largest Independent Network Owners, owning and operating in excess of 300,000 gas and electricity connections serving residential and commercial customers. In total the Group employs over 650 people across the UK.
About the role:
The main purpose of the HR Manager/ Business Partner role is to work closely with the Group HR Manager to deliver the Group HR Strategy within UKPS, adapting to meet the individual business needs.
The role will be based at UKPS' Head Office in Stonehouse, but you will be need to be flexible to travel to our other offices and depots as required.
Main duties:
Business Partnering
* Advise and support Directors and Managers with all people–related issues
* Influence and build relationships across the business to ensure decision–making is in line with policies and best practice
Resourcing / Recruitment
* Work with Directors and Managers to understand upcoming resource needs and track against the headcount budget
* Utilise direct channels to maximise direct recruitment (job boards, social media, refer a friend scheme)
* Support managers with the recruitment process (including interviews) as required
* Oversee all employment offers / contract paperwork and manage visa sponsorship and our compliance as a Tier 2 sponsor
Learning & Development
* Oversee the annual appraisal process, coaching managers as required
* Oversee our onboarding and induction processes
* Manage our Learning & Development team to deliver the L&D strategy and Support the ongoing development of our internal training and development schemes,
Employee Relations
* Assist managers with disciplinary, capability and grievance matters, ensuring they are dealt with consistency and fairness to minimise risk to the business; escalate high risk or complex cases to the Group HRM as appropriate
* Coach and support managers through HR processes
HR System & Reporting
* Ensure the SelectHR system is kept accurate and up–to–date; work with the Group HRM to develop the system and ensure it remains fit for purpose as the business grows
* Provide monthly reports and KPIs to the UKPS Directors and Last Mile Group
Reward & Benefits
* Work with the Group HRM and Directors to review company benefit arrangements as required and ssist with annual benefit renewal processes
* Support the Directors and Senior Managers with the annual pay review process
Health & Wellbeing
* Work with the Group HRM on implementation of a health & wellbeing strategy
* Support employees where required, utilising occupational health where appropriate or signposting to our Employee Assistance Programme or private medical
* Assist the HSEQ Manager with health & safety and wellbeing initiatives as required
Projects
* Work with the Group HRM and the wider Group HR team on continuous improvement projects
* Assist with the implementation of new policies, procedures and ways of working as required.
What we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will be an established HR Manager/Business Partner with experience/knowledge of the following:
* Working within an SME environment and managing a small team
* Providing Business Partner support up to Director level
* Direct recruitment strategies
* Employment law and its application
* Previous experience managing or working closely with an L&D function would be advantageous
Key Skills / Attributes:
* A motivated self–starter with an emphasis on continuous improvement
* Able to build relationship at all levels and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities
* Confidentiality, sensitivity and tact
* Strong IT literacy, including MS Office and HR systems
Qualifications / Education
* CIPD Level 5 or above
