The HR professionals we seek will be allocated a Home Office business area, and will be involved with partnering significant change programmes, delivering strategic initiatives which will fundamentally change how the department operates as well as navigating complex relationships with senior leaders.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking experienced HR Professionals who understand how we as professionals can help business leaders to unlock the potential of their teams. To do this our business partners work alongside senior managers to provide an independent view and strategic HR input and support on a wide range of critical business issues. Our teams enable business leaders to improve workforce performance through robust workforce planning, leadership development, organisational effectiveness, staff capability & skills, staff engagement and talent development.

Your Key Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

Working with senior business leaders to lead the design and champion implementation of the directorate Business and People Strategies
Working across the HR Value Chain to implement HR basics as well as HR policy and programmes to deliver taxpayer VFM and a high standard of HR service delivery
Supporting change initiatives and refining organisation culture, values and environment to improve organisational performance and flexibility
Working alongside senior managers to build capability in line with strategic goals to maximise capability and skills across a diverse workforce;
Acting as the people lead in the development of organisational design, structures and resource plans
Advising on options for appropriate talent and resourcing initiatives
Supporting senior leaders with Employee Relations and interpreting legal advice
Ensuring that the development of HR solutions meet business needs and that diversity issues are fully integrated
Working collaboratively and with credibility and an agility to thrive within a business which relies on constant innovation and change
Understanding how to navigate the complex, with curiosity to support our diverse business and promote a unified Civil Service HR Profession

You will hold the following skills and experience;

Essential criteria

Operational and strategic HR experience, in a constantly changing fast paced environment
Experience in guiding leaders through effective organisational change
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to partner effectively and excellent stakeholder management skills
Experience of analysing HR metrics, and of interpreting and reporting complex data
Initiating, advising and deploying strategies to improve productivity and performance

Applicants must be either a Chartered Members of CIPD or CIPD qualified and working towards, or willing to work towards Chartered status within 18 months.

Applicants must be willing to undergo Security Clearance for this role
