The best way to judge a company is based on what the people who work there say. Our recent employee survey rated us Number 2 in the Sunday Times 25 Best Big Companies to Work For list. We offer not only fulfilling jobs and exciting career opportunities but a place where everyone can be long and feel proud to work. What makes us such a rich and progressive place to work is the huge variety of people that make up our workforce.

And of course, we don't pretend that what you do for us is all you're about. We want you to bring your whole self to work – parent, carer, artist, triathlete, introvert??? whatever it is that makes you YOU. We offer the balance to make sure you have plenty of time to do the things you need or want to do alongside work, because we know that's how you are able to be your best.

We're recruiting an IT Infrastructure focussed Programme Manager to join us to successfully deliver large, complex IT Infrastructure Programmes, working closely with our IT partners and business stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and benefits for the Society.

We're looking for positive, proactive people who really believe in the values of a mutual building society, owned by its members. We want someone who knows they've got something special to contribute and is passionate about being part of what we do.

Typically this will include delivery of infrastructure, network, security and end user computing aligned projects to the strategy set by the CIO and the leadership team. Some key accountability will include:

Being responsible for the day–today performance of a Programme or Portfolio of Change, and delivery against the Product Roadmap/Business Strategy, ensuring that it meets its objectives and realises the expected benefits.
Being responsible for ensuring delivery and the appropriate governance of high profile / high complexity projects and Programmes across the business.
Championing and driving continuous improvement and development of our Change capability.
Ensuring the production of accurate, consistent and timely plans, reports and Management Information to the Board, the Executive and Senior Management.
The Role

We are looking for someone with significant Programme delivery experience across a breadth of technology domains and who has a reputation for consistently delivering to target. You will also be an extended member of the Change and Project Delivery leadership teams with behaviours to match, and a shared responsibility for continuously improving our delivery capability and developing talent. As an IT Infrastructure Programme Manager, you will be or have:

Demonstrable evidence of strong leadership and influencing skills in a matrix managed environment; whilst being able to integrate and work as part of a team
Outstanding communication skills at all levels of the business, with an ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, especially at an Executive level
Strong supplier selection and management skills, ensuring delivery against commitments is achieved working collaboratively to address any challenges.
A wealth of technical IT knowledge and experience, preferably with at least 10+ years' experience of delivery across a range of technology infrastructure areas such as Oracle/Solaris Microsoft technologies and End User Compute/ Networking/ Backup/ Storage/ Data Centre/ Cloud
Overall ownership for budgets of a minimum GBP5m+
Expertise in the management of Change, with evidence of ability to work within a structured Programme management delivery framework, including SCRUM / Agile methodologies
Professional qualifications, i.e. PRINCE2, MSP, APM or Agile qualifications.
Financial services industry experience and/ or regulated environment
These are exciting times for the Change team at the Coventry, as we balance the continued smooth implementation of regulatory change and business enhancements with a huge investment in IT and Business Process transformation.

We've got a whole range of different ways to support you, both in your role and wider wellbeing. Our flexible working arrangements and family–friendly policies also help to make sure you're happy and in control of your work–life balance.

And we're committed to being by your side for as long as you want to be part of our story
