Head of Food – Salads

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Head of Food will develop and lead our strategy for the NPD team to help drive our customers to become overall market leaders across multiple categories.

Create and develop our Salads food strategy for each category / business area that supports our ambition to become the UK's leading added value salad producer.
Lead the innovation agenda for the business unit across a multi–site and multi–functional team.
Provide robust people leadership, development and direction so all colleagues are capable, engaged, focused and delivering.
Ensure all the development team have measurable objectives, regular reviews of performance and the opportunity to grow, leading to a culture of high performance and high engagement.

We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic Head of Food for our Salads business unit.

Greencore Salads is the newest business unit within the Greencore. Currently operating from two sites in Lincolnshire (Boston and Spalding), but with an exciting growth strategy. Growth is absolutely a buzz word in Salads, and we've got exciting plans to double our business and more in the next few years. This will be achieved through broadening and deepening our customer partnerships and also future acquisitions. We need fantastic, passionate progressive foodies to join us on our Salads journey to help realise the full potential of this ambitious business unit.

Our Salads business unit supply most of the major retailers from one or both sites, as well as partnerships with foodservice, branded and convenience customers across the UK. Our products are in Food to Go salads and Snacking, Prepared Vegetables, Side of Plate and Ready to Eat dressed salads, healthy fresh meals, deli fillers and branded vegan categories, and we're constantly exploring where and how we can continue to grow in these areas.

What we're looking for
Someone with a genuine passion for food.
Substantial leadership experience gained in product development with demonstrable network of industry contacts.
Experience in food manufacturing and / or retail is essential, particularly if this has been in chilled own label categories, although this isn't a prerequisite.
Successful track record of driving, implementing and embedding change.
Breadth and depth of commercial and financial awareness to develop and deploy the business units food strategy profitably.
