A leading North West business is looking to expand its Group Finance function with the appointment of a Head of Group Reporting.

A leading North West business is looking to expand its Group Finance function with the appointment of a Head of Group Reporting.

Working closely with the CFO and Group Financial Controller the Head of Group Reporting is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of all Group financial reporting activities.

This incorporates the management and statutory consolidation, the board management packs, the quarterly investor reports and the annual report and accounts.

Interaction with the wider operational business is also a key element of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Group external reporting cycle including planning, Group auditor liaison, annual report and board reports. Directing the Group internal and external reporting timetable.

Drafting quarterly financial reports to Investors, liaising with the executive team where necessary.
Responsible for the Group consolidation following the completion of the draft consolidation by the financial reporting team.
Implementation of a consolidation tool to drive development of the Group reporting and consolidation process and outputs.
Responsible for the following accounting conclusions within the Group financial statements: finalisation of the Group impairment review, going concern review, Group exceptional items, financial instruments and defined benefit pension schemes.
Responsible for the final monthly Group income statement, Group balance sheet, Group cash flow, Group KPI reporting, latest view and identification of potential issues.
Manage and control changes to Group accounting policies, including assessment of changes to accounting standards, preparation of critical reporting issues papers to the Group FC and the Board, provision of ad–hoc technical accounting support to senior finance officials and their teams across the Group.
Liaising with the financial reporting team and regional finance teams to ensure timely information is provided to enable the above activities.
Provide accounting support for acquisitions/disposals and involvement in key group finance projects.
Continued development of finance staff (including line manager responsibilities).

Person Specification

ACA Qualified Accountant (ideally Big 4 trained)
Strong audit background
Technically strong
Experience of UK / US GAAP and IFRS preferred
Previous industry experience in a Group business preferred
