Head of Civils Design Engineering

We are currently looking for a Head of Rail Civils Design to work for a leading contractor within the Derby area within their consultancy service. Within the position you will lead the Civils design team UK wide for producing ancillary civils design on electrification projects across the UK, which will be predominantly working on Network Rail projects.

Within the role you will lead and direct allocated design resources in the delivery of conceptual and detailed civil and structural engineering design in which you will undertake the production of plans / drawings / documentation, planning and organizing activities and resources to meet programme deadlines.

Within the position you guide a team carrying out Civil designs and checks for Engineering schemes ensuring full compliance with current British and/or Eurocode and working to the relevant Network Rail standards.

This position is based in Derby, however other regional locations like Warington will be considered. Ideally this is a permanent position and could suit an experienced Principal Rail Civil Engineer looking to make that next step up.

Job Requirements

Computer literate and experienced in design software; knowledge of AutoCAD, TEDDS, Pframe / Superstress or similar
Experience of rail civils design on electrification projects
Design experience on Rail Civil Engineering, or Rail Structural Engineering schemes
Chartered Engineer
Experienced in managing a team and providing guidance to Design Engineers
