Our client is a rapidly expanding online retailer with turnover c £90m and EBITDA of c £5m. They are looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer to join their team.
Growth has been mainly organic and the business has now reached the stage where it has evaluated its strategic options and it is likely that the business will seek new owners (in full or in part) within the next two years
Whilst the founder shareholders would consider continuing to lead the business it is likely that a new management team will be asked to lead the business into its next stage of development. The CFO will be a critical appointment as part of that strategy not only to assist the shareholders in realizing some of their investment but also to be a key member of the team going forward.

The Role Of Chief Financial Officer
- Understand and mitigate the key elements of the Company's risk profile
- Manage finances to ensure that company remains well funded
- Lead a team of circa 18 Finance staff split between 2 sites
- Report detailed Management Information to Board and outside stakeholders
- Provide the business with detailed budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Manage and develop relationship with lenders, insurers, pension providers
- Member of Main Board and Operational Board working closely with CEO you will participate in the key decision-making processes
- Working closely with IT Director to ensure smooth implementation of new ERP system (Microsoft AX 7)
- Chartered Accountant (ACA), likely to be Big Four trained (preferably first time passes).
- Likely to have over 10 years post qualification experience preferably gained in commerce, either in a head office environment or divisional operational.
- FMCG /online retail sector experience
- Previous experience of being an Finance Director or FC during a business sale is essential. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the actual role he or she played in the process.
