Our client is a highly entrepreneurial services business who are looking for a qualified accountant to join them as a Finance Director for a 12 month fixed term contract. The role will report to the Managing Director and will combine both hands on accounting with commercial financial modelling. The Finance Director will be responsible for financial strategy, reporting, financial controls and risk management.

About the role
  • Responsible for overseeing production and analysis of year-end financial accounts; liaising with the company's auditors.
  • Overseeing preparation of P&L, Balance sheet and cash flows on a monthly basis for Board and investor purposes.
  • Manage and control cash collection through weekly review meetings.
  • Oversee cashbook functions including ensuring bank, supplier and debtor reconciliations are carried out.
  • Manage the consolidation of all group company accounts and reporting requirements.
  • Lead the year-end audit process including preparing the statutory accounts for audit.
  • Ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met including ONS, VAT returns and PAYE/ P11D returns.
  • Establish key relationships with auditors, bankers, insurers as well as key suppliers.
  • To identify and improve systems and processes throughout the business.
The FD will be expected to take a hands on role within a small finance team. This role would suit an ambitious financial accountant or financial controller who is looking to make their first move as a finance director. The successful candidate will be given a varied role within a growing SME and the opportunity to widen their skillset.
