Board Level Global Construction Director

OPPORTUNITY: BOARD LEVEL GLOBAL CONSTRUCTION DIRECTOR

LOCATION: WORKING FROM HOME WITH FREQUENT INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

SALARY: GBP300,000 TO GBP500,000 PLUS ANNUAL BONUS & BENEFITS

A world class Property Developer with a track record of developing and operating hundreds of Data Centre's globally, backed by a major investment management firm is recruiting a 'hands on' and commercially focused Construction Director to manage the physical delivery of projects globally. Forming part of the board this position will report into the CEO of their Development Company and be responsible for managing multiple construction projects across the globe at any time, each with a capital budget of between USD $(Apply online only)M.

Core responsibilities of the role will include;

Management of all construction activities globally, leading the internal team, consultants, contractors and sub–contractors
Ensuring that Environmental Health & Safety standards and practices meet the highest global standards
Lead and motivate the global construction team and drive performance to ensure strategic objectives are met
ensure that construction designs are fully compliant with our contractual obligations to customers in terms of quality and timescale
lead project procurement, leading negotiations with general contractors and tender evaluation with detail and accuracy
Drive the delivery and improvement of companywide construction processes (including information management and controls) for contractors and vendors to deliver high–quality project deliveries in an efficient and most importantly safe mannerKnowledge and skills required;

At least 10 years' experience of delivering complex infrastructure projects or complex mission critical buildings e.g. major hospitals, manufacturing or production facilities
Passionate about safety and unwilling to accept 'adequate' as a response to safety issues
A true leader and strategic thinker, highly motivated, personable and ready to build, mentor and motivate a team
Capable of building trusted relationships with customers, delivery partners and stakeholders
Ideally already operating at Board level or awaiting appointment to such a role within a large multinational organization
Experience in developing fast track construction programmes, with a depth of industry experience that allows you to see issues before they arise and identify delivery strategies to improve delivery timescales
Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with a strong understanding of information technology
Financial and budgetary skills with a solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
A creative problem solver, comfortable working across a range of geographies and cultures, with the ability to influence supplier performance to ensure international standards are achieved in deliveryQualifications and experience required;

A Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or an equivalent engineering science
10+ years recent experience in leading multiple large complex construction projects involving large–scale mechanical and electrical systems
Experience of working globally across a range of diverse cultural environments
Experience of leading construction of multiple data centres/critical infrastructure or large–scale mechanical and electrical plants
HSE qualified – NEBOSH certification
