We're working in Partnership with an NHS Foundation Trust in the North West of England who are seeking to appoint an interim Chief Nurse to join their Board of Directors from early November for at least 4 months or until they have recruited a substantive and they are able to start in 2021.
The successful candidate will be joining this NHS provider at a very exciting yet challenging time due to winter and the national response to the covid19 pandemic.
With an overall CQC rating of Good and numerous awards, the foundation trust provides acute and community services to a population of 326,000 and firmly believe in integrated working with system colleagues with whom they have a strong track record of working with effectively and creatively.
As Chief Nurse you will provide professional advice to the Board of Directors on nursing and midwifery matters, visible leadership to the Trust's nursing, midwifery and allied health professional workforce and take executive responsibility as Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DIPC), which will include responsibility for governance, safety and safeguarding.
You will also have shared executive responsibility with the Medical Director for quality and patient experience and, as an executive director, will work with Board colleagues in developing and delivering the strategic aims of the foundation trust.
A Registered Nurse or Midwife, the ideal candidate for this interim post will be an experienced NHS Chief Nurse who can hit the ground running and provide visible leadership over the trusts 5 acute clinical sites over the coming months. Consequently recent leadership experience within complex NHS providers will be a pre–requisite.
Possessing gravitas and confidence, you will be a stable and resilient leader when under pressure, who seeks to build effective teams and relationships.
Additionally ideally you will possess:
+Sound knowledge and understanding of the Infection, Prevention and Control challenges faced by the NHS acute sector, and an excellent track record in delivering IPC standards.
+Experience of collaborative working with stakeholders on complex service change projects.
+Knowledge, experience and expert understanding of all aspects of the NHS Governance Framework for NHS Foundation Trusts.
+Strong track record of developing governance systems and processes and delivering governance standards.
+Significant experience of liaising with regulatory bodies.
+Experienced in the design, development and implementation of quality improvement systems and strategy.
A clear driving license will make it easier for you to travel to the trusts different sites.
