Head of Proposals
Job objectives and responsibilities
?? Ensure the proposal team work collaboratively across the business to ensure the highest quality of bid documentation: clear, succinct and innovative plus identifies the key needs of the customer providing a tailored solution.
?? Lead to successful retentions, new wins, increased turnover and profitable income for the business
?? Consistently deliver the companies "Management Expectations" successfully across all key areas, leading and supporting individuals and the team to meet and exceed business performance targets
?? Support, promote and report on effective bid production activities, (research intelligence, pipeline, competitors, opportunities, OJEU, prequalification, tender submission, costing and providing innovative solutions for customers)
?? Maintain statistics on all activities and manage resource
?? Ensure compliance to all Mitie Group policies and procedures. Liaise closely with the Solutions Directors to ensure appropriate sign off of contracts.
Main duties
?? Provide strategic leadership to the proposal manager team to ensure best in class bidding and high–quality outputs
?? Direct ownership and accountability for proposal management team
?? Support all aspects of bidding and proposal activity where necessary, particularly for major bids
?? Effectively manage resources and deadlines to ensure appropriate workload allocation
?? Own and maintain overall resource plan to allow accurate resource forecasting and identify opportunities for cross functional support
?? Oversee all PQQ/RFI and RFP production and submissions, from initial enquiry to presentation stage/BAFO
?? Support the mobilisation of new and retained business
?? Ensure all bids follow the appropriate Mitie commercial governance processes and are audit compliant
?? Support the maintenance and accuracy of the TS bid library, data and proposal materials
?? Liaise closely with the creative team to manage workload and ensure high quality design and graphics are used on all submissions
?? Work with sales and operations team to create bid strategies and solutions
?? Liaise with wider sales community in Mitie to share best practice and develop effective bidding strategies
?? To be part of the Senior Leadership team in developing and delivering on the sales strategy for the business and report on current/future status.
?? Maintain a close working relationship with Solutions Directors, Operations Directors and Operations, ensuring cohesion in any new business venture.
?? Support the production of sales and marketing collateral and the Mitie social media strategy
?? Carry out any reasonable tasks required by line management in a manner that is conducive to good business practice.
?? Role model line management behaviour, including individual development, performance management and recognition of staff
?? Production and maintenance of a succession plan ensuring all training and development requirements to maintain the plan are implemented
