Position: Head of Engineering
Location: Glasgow or Inverness
Rate Guide: GBP80,000 – GBP90,000pa plus Package
Our client is looking to strengthen their delivery team with a Head of Engineering for a Joint Venture which has been formed to manage, design and deliver a programme of work for Scottish Water through to 2027. Based in either Glasgow or Inverness the Head of Engineering's primary purpose is to provide leadership and accountability for all design and engineering activities for the JV.
Working with the Client and the wider JV team, you will manage the process of developing designs from feasibility through to handover. They will ensure that the necessary stakeholder engagement, 3rd Party liaison, compliance with relevant client and industry standards have been achieved, whilst maintaining a strong health and safety culture.
You will report directly to the Engineering Director and the responsibilities will include:
Engineering Leadership.
Participation in the Senior Leadership team, chaired by the COO, including the preparation of Board Reports.
Close liaison with the Head of Delivery and Head of Commercial to ensure an integrated design and build culture.
Overall management and leadership of Design Leads, Discipline Lead and Design Managers within their portfolio.
Accountable for individual project delivery programmes to meet procurement, supplier and construction schedules.
Ensure Technical Excellence, Quality Control and Compliance across all projects.
Manage the day to day activities of the design team and ensure compliance with the overall Joint Venture plan.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Experience in managing engineering teams in geographically dispersed locations.
Experience in multidisciplinary water and wastewater design and build schemes.
Must be delivery driven with the ability to set targets and manage and motivate multi–disciplinary teams to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives.
Demonstrable Project Control capability – control of budgets and programs.
Relevant Degree or equivalent qualification.
Expert knowledge working as, an Engineering Manager, Design Manager or a Technically minded Operational Manager on Design and Construction Projects.
