A leading NHS organisation are looking for a Divisional Director of Nursing.

Lead, inspire and develop the nursing workforce within the Divisions to deliver high quality, patient centred nursing care that meets the needs of the patient.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide outstanding nursing leadership to the division and clinical programmes, commanding the respect of the profession;
Able to articulate what the vision and contribution to nursing will be to help the Trust deliver its strategic intentions;
Manage highly complex, sensitive situations that require a high level of decision making and be able to command the authority and respect of the clinical and managerial workforce;
Ensure the nursing budget is maintained within plan;
Responsible for the standard of patient care and experience across the Division and ensure fundamental standards of patient care are in place;
Act as the professional lead for the Heads of Nursing within the Division, holding the Heads of Nursing / Matrons to account on all aspects of the quality and patient experience agenda;
Work in partnership with the Divisional Director of Clinical Operations to provide professional support to the delivery of operational priorities;
Lead and manage major Trust projects and portfolios of work taking corporate responsibility as required by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing & Quality Officer, ensuring effective structures and process to support the remit are in place across the Trust;
Ensure a clinical governance framework is in place which promotes patient safety, clinical effectiveness, and patient experience;
Advise the division on where the nursing opportunities are to effectively contribute to the division delivering their business plan;
Work with and hold the division to account to improve the patient's experience by reviewing performance, agreeing, and signing off improvement plans.
A successful candidate will have:

Current NMC Registered General Nurse;
Extensive experience within a similar level working within the NHS;
Understanding of NGSA frameworks in relation to quality, governance and profession standards including CQC.
