Our client is a leading a leading supplier of Process Instrumentation, Valves & Controls, Pipe, Fittings, Flanges, & Gaskets, Studbolts, Fastenings & Engineering Consumables.
Their network of Branches, Workshops and Sales Managers across the UK coupled with their extensive Stockholding & Production, Calibration & Repair, Service & Hire, means that whatever their customers need and wherever they are, they are ideally placed to provide them with "the complete engineering and process solution??"
They are currently looking for a Business Development Manager for their Product Line Expansion program based from their Sheffield Fastener Centre.
They are looking for an energetic individual who is currently working in an Industrial sales role and has knowledge of Engineering Consumables; Small Tooling; Workwear and PPE to name a few of the new products they will be adding to their portfolio.
The position is new to the business and the successful candidate will have access to existing key accounts and an extensive data base of customers. The successful candidate will have external responsibility for developing a sales channel for all new products into our existing customer base, this will be supported by the existing Area and Regional Sales Managers. The role also requires the ability to develop new business opportunities within the geographical area
You will be responsible for delivering cash generative profitable growth within your sales area.
Their ideal candidate is a goal–oriented, target–driven person with an excellent knowledge of Industrial and Mechanical consumables and associated products. Proven track record in a similar environment will be beneficial.
Principal Tasks and Accountabilities:
* Seek new opportunities in your geographical area.
* Develop and maintain a structured sales plan to maximise time spent in the field.
* Develop long–term relationships with customers to ensure awareness of the capabilities of the business.
* Work with the customer to understand and define short and long–range requirements.
* Actively visit customers to promote range of Mechanical and Industrial consumables.
* Identify opportunities for the whole product portfolio and work with colleagues to maximise these opportunities.
* Maximize both face to face meetings and high–level relationships with customers.
* Improve customer satisfaction by finding solutions to their needs.
* Understand customer business drivers and demonstrate linkage between recommended products/solutions to customer's needs and business objectives.
Ideal candidates will require:
* Proven sales record in Mechanical & Industrial consumables.
* Proven background in proactive selling and business development.
* Excellent knowledge of consumable and associated products.
* A good problem solver.
* Logical thinker and ability to review issues from differing viewpoints.
* Able to prioritize a varied workload to meet operational demands.
* Flexible working approach to ensure deadlines are achieved.
* Holder of a full UK driving license.
