Spencer Clarke Group are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to work in the Wiltshire area.
A Housing Assocation based in Wiltshire have a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager to join their team on a permanant basis.
Role Purpose
To provide efficient management of liaison between Fire Safety and delivery teams.
Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and seamless production, management and delivery of specifications and tenders resulting from fire risk assessments and fire safety concerns.
Key Accountabilities :
The Project Manager (construction) will:
Undertake a range of duties to support and bridge the process of recommendations from FRA's to suitable specifications and tenders for use by departments internally and externally;
Ensure the business's duties as Client and Principal Designer are fulfilled (with support from the fire safety team) for fire safety projects;
Manage the procurement process for major fire safety works in relation to specification and tenders;
Be adaptable in the approach to problem solving ensuring suitable engagement with stakeholders and take account of differing needs;
Keep up to date with legislative requirements within the building sector and the fire sector;
Be accountable for decisions made with specifications and tenders and to be involved with any possible changes to legislation or guidance such as the introduction of the EWS1 form;
Prepare and submit progress reports on pre–determined timescales for scrutiny by the Fire Safety Action Group and the Group Health and Safety Panel;
Act as first point of contact for external consultants and partners such as the Fire and Rescue Service in relation to projects under their control;
Respond to enquiries made to the department, both by phone and email, primarily from internal Departments through to external companies (both potential clients and suppliers) and
Be responsible, along with colleagues, for the effective updating/upkeep of databases and records and effective use of the Health and Safety management system (Currently Assure)
Ensure that the group complies with its duties under CDM
Candidate requirements:
Working knowledge of Building Regulations;
A recognized building/surveying qualification (MRICS/CIOB);
In–depth/extensive experience required in the production of specifications;
In–depth/extensive experience in the management of tendering processes;
IT literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Experience required in pre–construction phase project management;
Must be able to manage a busy workload and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
Team player with a flexible approach to working hours and
Proven ability to hit deadlines.
Desirable:
Chartered surveyor registered with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors;
Substantial experience required in housing and the building industry;
A recognised health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH or equivalent;
Expert user of AutoCAD or similar drawing package;
Some previous experience in a commercial business environment;
Experience in producing research and
Experience of procurement and tender systems such as In–Tend
