Director of Public Health – Wiltshire
Salary up to GBP110,084
Relocation package available to eligible candidates
Full time, based at County Hall, Trowbridge (currently working flexibly 80% of the time)

About the role
You will be the principal adviser on all health matters to elected members, officers and partners, with a leadership role spanning health improvement, health protection and healthcare public health as well as oversight of the council's occupational health and safety team.
You will lead on the development and implementation of strategies relating to prevention of ill health and improving the health and wellbeing of the population of Wiltshire.
In response to the current global pandemic the current focus for the role will be protecting the health of Wiltshire's population. You will chair the Health and Wellbeing Recovery Group, a significant partnership programme coordinating the health and wellbeing elements of the overarching recovery to Covid–19 across Wiltshire and also ensuring effective local outbreak management.
Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have the necessary behaviours, knowledge and skills to support this vision, gained through previous experience in a DPH role or leading on key programmes of work.
You will work need to demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with senior managers from across the Council, with the Clinical Commissioning Group and our acute trusts as well as other partner agencies to improve health outcomes and make a positive difference to the lives of people in Wiltshire.

About you
You will hold the following Essential Qualifications: Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC Specialist Register/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists is a mandatory requirement for this role. If included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist Register in a speciality other than public health medicine/dental public health, must have equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health medicine practice.
