Global Head of Data Science

I'm currently working with a market leading supply chain business based in Cheshire as we seek a Head of Data Science to join this FTSE listed, global organisation. This would suit a candidate who has previously set up a Data Science function within a multi–national business, taking the function from cradle to grave and negotiating and influencing non–technical exec's on best practices in doing so.

My client, a market leading supply chain organisation in Cheshire, seek an experienced Head of Data Science to take up a leading role in the implementation of their Data Science strategy. Additional responsibilities will be to lead the continued development of data management solutions, seamless data integration and analytical capabilities for Data Science. We are looking for an individual who has successfully taken a Data Science function from concept through to delivery and who will be a champion for Data Analytics across the organisation, driving development and implementation through influencing and consulting with non–technical executives across the global business in doing so.

Key Requirements:

– A successful track record of establishing a Data Science function from scratch.
– An expert ability with the following languages, as you'll be making recommendations on tech stacks around these: Python, R, Rstudio, Jupyter and other Data Science tools.
– APIs, data warehouses, data lakes, relational databases and data virtualization.
– using cloud technologies to speed up implementation lifecycles.
– working with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, system design,development and validation.
– creating data representations and analytical solutions.
– data governance and data harmonisation.
– data modelling techniques.
