Our Public Sector client has an immediate requirement for an experienced Project Manager to join their team on an interim basis to cover maternity leave until June 2021. The role will be a home based role due to government restrictions but thereafter the successful candidate will be required to work from the office in Aberdeen.
The role of Project Manager sits within the Enforcement Delivery Branch and is responsible for ensuring effective delivery of official controls relating to food safety, feed safety and information by working with local authorities and delivery bodies. The successful candidate is expected to communicate with local authorities and other government departments. A proportion of the work will involve active engagement with these stakeholders in order to manage a diverse portfolio of work across the food law delivery landscapes. The main areas of work will relate to supporting the regulatory requirements related to food information and primary production and the project management of the Scottish Food Enforcement Liaison Committee's Approved Establishment Working Group and sub groups.
Responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the delivery of the official control regime for primary production.
Support enforcement requirements and projects including updating of the manual for local authorities, Support Nutrition Programme for Enforcement including the roll out and implementation of the MenuCal tool with local authorities for allergen labelling within SME food business sector
Project management of the Scottish Food Enforcement Liaison Committee's Approved Establishment Working Group and associated pilot and project groups
Support with the delivery and implementation of the new approach to Official Controls in Approved and Manufacturing establishments across Scotland.
Management of the clients communications protocol
Delivery of annual and ad–hoc events/training
Provide informal/formal verbal and written communication to local authorities and stakeholders
Management of the delivery of Food Hygiene Information and Eatsafe Schemes
Support the Scottish Food Crime and Incidents Unit in the event of an incident and take part in emergency exercise related to testing the business readiness in this area.
Provide input to the EU Exit programme of work to ensure full functionality across specialist areas post exit if required
Skills/Experience:
Ability to work on own initiative and take the lead in projects, be adaptable bringing focus and energy to the role
A track record in building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders demonstrating strong interpersonal and networking skills.
Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise challenging workloads and find efficient ways of managing work.
Good analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to organise and collate information from a variety of sources to support decision making
