About the role
This newly created Financial Controller role will build a finance function from scratch. There are legacy systems, processes and practices that need to be completely overhauled and made ready for double digit growth and market expansion. Reporting into the CFO, a strong dotted line to the CEO and PE backers, this role has it all. We are looking for a hungry, hard-working and ambitious individual who wants to make something their own and be part of a team that will be part of a North West success story in a few years time.

Key responsibilities
- Overhaul existing finance function
- Make short term improvements whilst coordinating medium and long term change
- Understand, execute and develop all required finance activities across the function including but not limited to Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, reconciliation, cash, budgeting, forecasting, commercial finance and systems.
- Process improvement
- Cash flow forecasting, reporting and presentation to PE backers
- Development and coaching of a new small finance team
Person profile
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified
- Previous experience in a managerial finance role
- Demonstrable experience and ability to manage all elements of the finance department
- Appetite to work in a rapidly growing, PE backed, SME environment
- Desire to work at all levels from grass roots to board presentation
- Eye for detail, willingness to overhaul and improve all aspects of the existing finance function including systems
- Energetic, ambitious and hungry character to be part of a story from a humble beginning
