Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering aDincaster based manufacturing business owned by an international group, this is a six month position for an Interim Financial Controller to come on board to bridge the gap whilst numerous secondments take place. This is a true market leader and an integral position that will work closely with the Group FD.

Working as a member of the senior leadership team, the role is to lead the Finance agenda and provide accurate, timely and relevant financial information which will facilitate achievement of business goals and targets and to manage the finance department effectively and efficiently. The role is varied but the core responsibilities will include:-

  • Business partner to the, CE COO and Change Director
  • Preparation and co-ordination of all financial reporting for divisional P&Ls, including monthly management accounts to include insightful P&L and balance sheet analysis
  • Play lead role in defining and implementing the cost structure, time recording and system set up
  • Preparation of annual budgets and subsequent monthly reforecasting
  • Main contact point for External and Internal audit
  • Review and sign off of VAT returns, Intra Stat declarations and EC Sales Listings
  • Manage and develop accounting team, and oversee and manage relationship with Finance Shared Service Centre
  • Manage and forecast working capital at a local level
  • Introduce and ensure adherence with Group internal controls
  • Liaising with Group finance to ensure alignment with group objectives and reporting
  • Manage and track Capex spend and benefits
  • Develop key business initiatives to drive efficiencies and profits at the site

Business Management:
  • Providing key day to day finance support to all on site senior management
  • Structure and education of managing cost base and tracking people costs (experience of time recording and tracking)
  • Provide Monthly/Quarterly finance review with operations team
  • Develop and manage business unit budget
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly sales and profitability reporting for the business unit
  • Management of technology cost centre
  • Provide meaningful and insightful MI to assist the business with relevant decision making to drive business performance
  • Highlight key trends, opportunities and possible threats to the business and suggest and implement new procedures
  • Identify, write and present investment cases for the business unit and division
  • Challenge the business in defining cost opportunities and support the business to deliver these

The successful candidate will be a qualified (Ideally ACA) accountant with extensive group reporting, stat accounting and line management responsibility. It would be advantageous to have worked in a divisional finance role and manufacturing environment, must be available to start within 2-4 weeks' time.
