Leading international law firm are currently looking to recruit a bright and ambitious commercial litigator with a strong bias towards, or interest in, corporate crime and investigations.

The role will be incredibly varied, and you will work closely alongside a Chambers-ranked partner, focusing on the investigation and prosecution of range of offences including fraud, bribery and corruption, criminal anti-competitive behaviour, health and safety, environmental, food hygiene and safety, product safety, consumer protection (Trading Standards) and dawn raids.

The role can be based in Manchester or Liverpool.

Responsibilities:
  • The team has experience conducting multiple privileged internal investigations into whistle blower allegations and suspected corporate and employee criminality.
  • You will work with investigation committees and internal compliance officers, civil litigation colleagues, Human Resources, law enforcement agencies and insurers to manage complex issues arising from alleged wrong-doing, as well as working with teams of forensic accountants and IT specialists to ensure the appropriate and proportionate capture and analysis of evidence. The hiring partner has particular interest in the powers of regulators, internal investigations and the provision of strategic advice on crisis management.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Circa 4 - 8 years' PQE.
  • Candidates will have a mixture of strong litigation and arbitration experience gained at a leading regional or City firm.
  • Experience of conducting corporate due diligence, as well as any exposure to AML, tax evasion, contentious SHE and internal investigations are of significant interest.
  • Regulatory and/or commercial fraud experience are also highly desirable.
  • Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of the technical issues that are key to our clients.
  • Drafts documents using a commercial, client focussed style.
  • Complies with professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations.
  • Complies with the firm's systems, policies and procedures in all matters - including compliance, financial systems and time recording.
  • Knows and understands how to best utilise information and research resources.
