BTG Recruitment are recruiting for a Tax Manager in Nottinghamshire where the successful candidate will be responsible for the tax affairs of the business and its subsidiary companies. This exciting opportunity will initially be for 6 months and offers you the chance for a wide variety of duties and responsibilities.
Your role will include strategic development of the service, tax planning, statutory tax compliance, including compilation and submission of returns, and the application of an extensive knowledge of continually changing legislation to provide advice and respond to tax queries from across the business.

Your role will include strategic development of the service, tax planning, statutory tax compliance, including compilation and submission of returns, and the application of an extensive knowledge of continually changing legislation to provide advice and respond to tax queries from across the business.
The role includes:
- The go to person for all tax related matters
- Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation, sign off and submission of statutory tax and related returns for the group in accordance with legal requirements. These include quarterly VAT returns, EC Sales Listings and Intrastat Returns, P11ds and PSA
- Provide detailed review and analysis of complex tax returns
- Work on multiple complex issues, speaking to non-finance departments while managing the risk
- Advise on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research and compliance
- Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with professional standards. This role offers significant and continuous project management responsibilities. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing financial controls
- Assist extended service and tax issue recognition for existing departments
