Reconciliations Accountant

Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, our client is a leading, nationwide multi-site retailer who have experienced huge growth in recent years. They're seeking an experienced Accountant to join the business on a 6-month interim basis and look after an area of their highly complex reconciliations within a medium sized team.

You will be responsible for the co-ordination and reconciliation of the various Sales Ledger and Bank accounts within the business. This role would suit an experienced ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant who has strong exposure in working with complex data on Excel with experience in an extremely high-volume multi-site reconciliations environment.

The successful individual will be highly computer literate with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Sage 200. A good understanding of accounting reconciliation techniques as well as strong experience with Excel including Vlookup's and Pivot tables. You will need excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and to work to deadlines within a pressurised environment.

Duties will include:

• Allocate historical entries on the sales ledger for the 2 major accounts
• Investigate remaining balances to understand what action needs to be taken to clear and then to proceed to clear, working with to understand the reason for the variances and next actions
• Reconcile and investigate variances and resolve on the above-mentioned accounts for current activity
• Liaise with credit card co.'s and processing agencies, acting proactively to resolve any differences
• Liaise with Contract Managers with respect to processing manual and missing vouchers
• Support Supervisors post Netsuite implementation, freeing up some time to enable the supervisors to work on process change over October to December
• Year-End cover December-February
• Cover for other members of the reconciliations team during leave and sickness etc.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as required
• Balance sheet reconciliations, integrity and compliance controls
