Our client is a fast paced, private equity backed retailer and they are now looking to recruit a CFO to work closely with the CEO. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a retail or online retail business (between £30m to £100m turnover) and will be comfortable working in a role that is both hands-on and strategic.

Responsibilities & Experience
  • Finance and management reporting function, supporting the Board through the preparation of budgets and financial reports and providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
  • Manage systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finances, including the financial control framework.
  • Supporting and partnering with the CEO to deliver the Company strategy.
  • Financial leadership of the fund raising initiatives.
  • Management of outsourced service providers, including warehouse and logistics.
  • Develop / enhance IT systems and processes
  • Management of external audit and banking relationships.
  • HR compliance and overall responsibility for personnel matters.
  • Lead and deliver the operations strategy.
  • Ensure that accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and that company policies are followed.

Profile
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • Experience of the retail and/or online industry helpful but not essential.
  • Experience of managing a small team.
  • A strong and up to date working knowledge of IT systems and process management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work closely and communicate with both financial and non-financial people.
  • Experience of working in a leveraged environment managing covenants
  • Ability to deliver fast ‘helicopter view’ commercial financial analysis as well as bottom up detailed modelling.
  • Work hands-on with limited resources while the company grows.
  • A change manager who thrives in fast paced environments.
