Insurance Accountant

Badenoch + Clark are working with a leading Insurance business to recruit for either a qualified by experience or qualified Insurance Accountant to assist with the technical analysis and financial and statutory reporting.

Key responsibilities

*Provide insightful analysis and commentary surrounding the monthly technical result at a group and individual entity level.
*Produce monthly calculation of Group / Entity level Solvency II reporting, GAAP to Solvency II reconciliation and calculation of Standard Formula SCR.
*Prepare monthly calculation of solvency coverage for captive reinsurance entity following Solvency guidelines.
*Support the overall reinsurance process, review new agreements, update terms matrix, produce ad-hoc data requests from reinsurance broker.
*Develop and maintain collaborative relationship with external jurisdictional managing agent, provide them ad-hoc assistance to meet regulatory reporting requirements.
*Work with FP&A manager to develop and maintain Solvency II balance sheet forecast, support overall Solvency II lead to enhance forecast for improved accuracy and to enable scenario testing for use in business planning.
*Liaise with the company auditors at year end and on an ongoing basis as and when required.
*Support external regulatory reporting specialists with preparation of annual statutory accounts for individual entities and group

Key Skills
*General Insurance accounting, including technical analysis, reinsurance and financial and statutory reporting
*Excellent knowledge of how to prepare accounts in line with regulations and policies
*Knowledge of FCA requirements
*Strong Excel / formula skills.
