CORPORATE LAWYER / CHARTERED COMPANY SECRETARY

12 month fixed term contract (maternity cover)

THE ROLE

This exciting position represents an excellent opportunity to join an established world leader in their sector. As part of a small legal team reporting into the VP Corporate Legal Affairs you will have wide ranging responsibilities for providing critical and timely legal advice in a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will forge relationships with key personnel in the UK and Europe. Your ability to understand the business and its needs will be of crucial importance. The role has broad dimensions but will include providing corporate legal support to it's UK businesses, implementing best practice in corporate governance and advising on regulatory compliance. You will provide company secretarial and board support services to a portfolio of UK and International companies.

THE PERSON

This role requires a UK qualified lawyer or chartered company secretary with post-qualification experience in a commercial or corporate role. Specialist legal knowledge of one or more of company secretarial administration, corporate governance or regulatory compliance is highly desirable. Ideally you will have recent experience in a leading UK law firm or a relevant in-house environment. Commerciality is key, and as well as excellent technical expertise, it is essential that candidates have a practical and commercial approach. You will need to be robust in a challenging environment and work effectively under pressure. Good communication and presentation skills will be vital to your success in this position. As part of a small team, it is important that the successful candidate is seen as an approachable, responsive and trusted adviser.
