My client is a residential developer looking for a Finance Director to provide leadership and direction of the Finance function, ensuring effective delivery of strategic and operational financial services to the senior management team, board and other stakeholders in the delivery of the business plan.

Your duties will include:
  • Manage the day-to-day finance function and the finance team. Be part of the leadership team to improve the region as a whole, taking responsibility for morale, direction and culture across all business areas.
  • Ensure that monthly MI reports are produced on time and are accurate with clear commentary and guidance for the region.
  • Manage the payment teams to ensure late payments are avoided and creditors and accruals are accurate
  • Manage the balance sheet, P&L and cashflow to ensure accuracy of both actuals and forecasts.
  • Produce an annual business plan and take full responsibility for the regional business plan
  • Support operations to improve their understanding of the finance function and of how the finances of the business work and how to interpret the financial performance
  • Understand fully the sales position and forecast of the region, both challenging and supporting the sales team to ensure that revenues are maximised and sales risk is minimised.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director to manage site costs and understand cost risks.
  • Attend cost review meetings and be able to challenge and explain the current commercial position on all current sites
  • Review the land deals proposed by the land team and challenge the commerciality of the deals to ensure best value, and that risk is minimised
  • Support the MD in delivering the business plan and managing the region.
Person
  • Qualified chartered accountant with experience of operating at board level
  • Experience of working within the construction and contracting industry
  • Experience in performance management
Experience in IT systems development, project management, HR and Health & Safety.
