Legal Counsel

An exciting opportunity has surfaced for a Legal Counsel to join a major retail group in the FMCG sector. This is a full time, permanent position at their office in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

The Company

The Group is a UK leader in the wholesale industry, as well as operating a number of successful businesses in other areas. They have a small, yet highly experienced legal team which is seeking to expand with the business. This would provide an ideal opportunity for a junior Commercial Lawyer wishing to develop their experience of working closely with key stakeholders across a variety of commercial disciplines.

About the Role

The appointed Legal Counsel will work closely with a growing Group, providing general commercial advice across numerous areas. The work will include:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts
• Advising on advertising and marketing matters
• Intellectual Property matters
• Regulatory matters, including tobacco and alcohol regulations
• Civil and commercial litigation

Candidate Profile

The ideal In House Counsel will be able to demonstrate:

• 0-5 years' PQE
• Strong commercial experience
• Some in house experience (advantageous)
• Good commercial acumen
• An interest in providing impactful advice to senior stakeholders
• The willingness to develop knowledge in the sector and the ability to learn quickly
