About the Group Head of Finance Role

Kindred Group is one of the world's largest online gambling businesses, with 11 brands, across 100 markets, serving over 21 million customers. We've grown consistently over the previous 20 years and are now looking for somebody to support with the embedding of a vision for our group finance function.

As Head of Finance you will drive Kindred's finance department with the aim of improving our financial performance. You will have four direct reports (Head of Financial Control, Head of Business Finance, Head of Group Reporting and Tax and Head of Financial Shared Services) and will have oversight of each function, working closely with the respective heads of department.

You will play a direct role supporting the CFO and the rest of the executive team with the continuous development of Kindred Group.

What will you be doing?
  • Create long-term department’s vision and plan, which align with company's strategic and business plan.
  • Supervise and develop all areas of the finance function, i.e. Financial Control, Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Business Finance and Finance Shared Services.
  • Ensure that the finance team has adequate resources to continue to support the growth and development of the business, both organically and through acquisitions.
  • Lead the finance teams in 7 different locations and manage its learning and development needs.
  • Ensure that the department has relevant and robust process and systems to operate in an effective and efficient manner and to support current activities and future growth.
  • Develop and maintain a finance systems vision and strategy, always being ahead of new technologies and innovations.
  • Developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the company’s business.
  • Oversee the budgeting, forecasting and internal/external reporting process.
  • Interpret complex financial information and provide updates, information and insight to the CFO and Executive management team.
  • Ensure that the Group remains compliant with tax and accounting rules and standards
  • Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
  • Lead and facilitate external reviews/audits from a group perspective.
  • Supervise the relationship with external advisors, auditors and bankers.
  • Support the implementation of the new Finance Shared Services Center.
  • Support the CFO on the finance, accounting and tax aspects of strategic and corporate projects: disposals and acquisitions, capital requirements, new markets/offices, etc.
  • Report to the CFO, member of the Corporate Office, attendance to bi-weekly Corporate Office meetings.
  • Work closely with the other members of the Corporate Office, Senior Managers, Executives and members of the Audit Committee.
  • Travel to the other offices, mostly in Europe, will be required from time to time.

Position Requirements
  • ACA or equivalent qualification.
  • 12-15 years in relevant positions.
  • Big 4 or equivalent background is likely to be preferred but opportunity exists for the right candidate with the right skills and attitude.
  • A successful profile is likely to include a period in audit to provide the relevant technical expertise, combined with post-qualification roles in a senior finance position.
  • Some exposure to technology, leisure or media sectors is likely to be helpful, but it is not specifically required to have any background in the gambling sector or indeed to be a gambler.
