Finance Manager

A leading FMCG organisation is looking for a Finance Manager to join them for a full-time interim role lasting 3-6 months. Based in North East Yorkshire and commutable from York or Hull postcodes, this is an exciting interim Finance Manager role for an experienced qualified accountant with a commercial background.

Responsibilities of your new role

As Finance Manager you will act as a business partner to the senior Commercial team and be responsible for the commercial finance team. You will provide key business support to manage and control financial risk while developing and implementing new opportunities. Producing relevant financial business intelligence and rigorous financial assessment of customer facing investment, other key duties of the Finance Manager will include:

• Supporting and advising the Director and Controllers where required to improve the commercial return of the function.
• Managing the Commercial Finance Team ensuring that it meets financial and auditory requirements.
• Responsible for the pricing to ensure it is as per customer trading agreements/joint business plans and that a robust pricing procedure is in place and adhered to.
• Developing the finance analyst ensuring that reporting / analysis is relevant and value adding to the function.
• Providing thorough analysis and review at a customer and channel level of the commercial plans and results against internal metrics with conclusions and actions required to ensure performance is on track as part of a monthly financial report.
• Reviewing, assessing and reporting weekly on risks and opportunities by channel with actions required to mitigate risks.
• Providing strategic direction on improving the commercial return for the function.
• Providing commercial support for validating and assessing the effectiveness of customer facing investment – including the development of Trading Agreements/Specific Investment with guidance.
• Validating bespoke P&L proposals ahead of submission to the functional Director.
• Providing development and support to elevate the commercial and financial acumen of the Sales Team.

Candidate profile

The business seeks an ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualified Finance Manager who demonstrates:

• Extensive commercial finance experience preferably gained in an FMCG or Manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience of working with and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience of implementing robust financial controls.
• Immediate or short notice availability

Salary

The successful Commercial Finance Manager will be offered £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (£300 - £400 per day), dependent on experience, plus competitive benefits.
