About the Role
The Legal Counsel will take on an autonomous role within the team, providing advice, assistance and support in connection with multi-million pound land, acquisition and residential development matters. The main scope of this role will include:
- Negotiating site purchasing contracts, option agreements and planning (S106) documents etc
- Assisting and working with the development directors, technical and planning teams to support their objectives
- Dealing with the acquisition of sites
- Arranging documentation for funding site purchase and development
- Instructing and liaising with external solicitors who handle plot sales
- Evaluating and reporting on tender documentation
- Advising the company on new legislation and regulations
- Drafting standard documents
- Generally advising and supporting the purchasing, sales, technical, planning, accounts and management services departments
The business is looking for an In House Counsel with:
- 5+ years' PQE
- A strong property development background gained in-house / at a leading firm
- Experience of site acquisition and development work
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
