About the Role
The firm acts for a diverse client base in a variety of sectors. As the appointed Commercial Litigation Lawyer, you will take on the following key duties:
- Advising on all aspects of disputes avoidance, management and resolution of high quality and complex disputes
- Managing disputes and preparing strategies for dealing with claims (including international arbitration, litigation, adjudication, expert determination or mediation)
- Drafting, reviewing and amending a range of dispute related documents (ranging from pleadings to pre-action letters).
- Strategically advising clients and managing client expectations and project delivery appropriately
- Liaising with clients and attending client meetings
- Contributing to business development - developing a personal plan, assisting with and implementing business development campaigns
- Legal Research
Candidate Requirements
The ideal Commercial Litigation Lawyer will have:
- 3-5 years' PQE
- Good commercial acumen and business awareness
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to provide a professional, quality service in a timely manner
- The ability to work co-operatively in a team, sharing information and knowledge
- A proactive approach to business development
- Exposure to, or experience of, advocacy within the Scottish legal system (highly desirable though not essential)
