Grafton Banks Finance is working exclusively with a rapidly expanding £8m turnover business near Hastings, East Sussex, to recruit a Financial Controller (Fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA). Reporting to the MD and managing a team of six in finance, this opportunity has genuine potential to develop into a Finance Director position in the future. This role would suit an experienced Financial Controller or a Finance Manager looking to make the next step up in their career.

Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Monitoring and Production of Management Accounts, Financial Accounts and day to day financial function
  • Ensure cash flow is optimised
  • Creation and monitoring of revenue and capital budgets
  • Ensuring accurate forecast modelling and information including sensitivity analysis
  • Ensure an effective capacity management / forecasting tool is maintained
  • Questioning seasonal and other gaps in forecast revenue so actions can be taken
  • Ensure that capital expenditure plans are adequately evaluated
  • Reporting and liaising with Group Finance
  • Producing and reviewing cost modelling for sales and purchases including variable and activity based reporting for accuracy and suitability
  • Ensure financial controls are reviewed for adequacy
  • Review of current finance system
  • Review of alternative solutions cost vs. benefit
  • Reporting to Managing Director on recommendations for improvements
  • Managing team performance to ensure key responsibilities are delivered
  • Provide a mentoring, training and advisory role to the Finance team members
  • Authorising payments in line with company policies
